The Staff Council in Bochum is made up of 13 members who are elected every four years by the employees of Bochum's Grundschulen. The members themselves work at Grundschulen in Bochum.

The Staff Council in Bochum represents the legitimate interests of all employees at Bochum's Grundschulen.

Teachers receive advice and support on many professional issues.

Focus of the Staff Council's activities

The focal points of the Staff Council's activities include

• Recruitment and all other career-related issues

• Transfer matters and secondments

• Mediation in the event of conflicts within the teaching staff, with the school management or the school supervisory board

• Support with occupational health and safety issues

• Advice on issues relating to part-time employment, maternity leave, partial retirement, leave of absence, ...

• Assistance with returning to work after a long-term illness, for example support with reintegration interviews (BEM interview)

• Cooperation with the representative body for severely disabled employees

The Staff Council is subject to confidentiality in all matters.

At an annual staff meeting, the Staff Council informs all interested employees about its activities and current developments within Bochum's school landscape.
