Supervision of Förderschulen
Förderschulen offer targeted support for pupils with special educational needs. Specialist supervision ensures that this support is of a high quality, legally secure and individually adapted. In Bochum, this is carried out by school inspectors at the education authority for the city of Bochum, while supervision is carried out by the Arnsberg district government. The school authority acts as the lower state school supervisory authority for primary, secondary modern and Förderschulen and is the point of contact for internal school matters.
Central tasks of technical supervision
Monitoring compliance with curricula and funding targets
Advising school administrators and teachers on pedagogical and organizational issues
Support for school and teaching development
Ensuring cooperation with parents, therapists and extracurricular partners
Contact for cross-school procedures such as the AO-SF procedure (determination of special educational needs)
Cooperation with the Center for Practical Teacher Training for Förderschulen
Support in the implementation of career guidance within the framework of "No degree without a connection" (KAoA)
Focus on funding priorities
Förderschulen work in different areas - e.g. learning, language, emotional and social development, mental development or physical and motor development. The specialist supervision ensures that the respective support concepts are implemented in a professionally sound and child-friendly manner.
Advice and support instead of control
Specialist supervision accompanies school development processes, provides impetus for new pedagogical approaches and supports the introduction of digital or inclusive forms of learning. The aim is to continuously improve special educational work - always in the interests of the children and young people.
Cooperation with parents and specialist agencies
Förderschulen cooperate closely with parents, youth welfare services, medical services and other institutions. The specialist supervisor promotes this cooperation and ensures clear responsibilities and transparent processes, e.g. when creating support plans or as part of the AO-SF procedure.
Focus on participation and development
The focus is on the individual strengths and needs of each child. Specialist supervision helps to ensure the best possible support, participation in school and personal development.
